Our Story

The journey to exceptional avocados.

We started looking at growing avocados and learning what was involved about 25 years ago.

Avocados seemed like a stable crop choice where we could continually learn and improve as the first trees grew. Rather than also growing other crops, we decided to specialise in premium quality avocados.

Lakeshore was started about 15 years ago when the original business outgrew the standard sole trader and partnership model.

In 2013, we identified an opportunity to support the growth of not only our own farms, but other like-minded farmers in the region, and so began a journey of designing and building our state-of-the-art Pack Centre. In 2016, we were up and running.

Green Skin Avocados, the marketing entity, was kicked off in 2014 in partnership with industry leaders Robert Gray and Treena Welch. Green Skin Avocados is now responsible for taking premium PurpleSkin®, GreenSkin® and GreenSkin® GMax® Avocados to the Australian and global markets.
